ailment (n.) an illness or disease. Example: — He is suffering from a strange ailment and has been in bed for three weeks. (v.) ail;  (adj.) ailing.

alacrity (n.) the willingness or readiness to carry out a specific action. Example: — Sarah is an eager student and studies with alacrity.

aloof  (adj.) reserved or indifferent to the interests or feelings of others. Example: — Ahmed is so aloof that he often avoids our company. (n.) aloofness; (adv.) aloofly.

amity (n.) love or friendship; (syn.) accord. Example: — There has been amity between the two nations since they signed the peace treaty. (adj.) amicable.

apposite (adj.) appropriate or suitable under the circumstances. Example: — Carlos is in the hospital, so I think that sending him a gift would be an apposite gesture. (adv.) appositely.

arduous (adj.) exceptionally difficult or demanding. Example: — The expedition to the North Pole was arduous and left the explorers exhausted. (adv.) arduously.
